Left in a dumpster

On June 9th 2022, Deundrea S. Holloway, age 25 murdered the 8 months pregnant Liese Dodd, 22 in her Alton, Illinois apartment.

Dodd’s mother had not heard from her daughter in a while and went to check on her. She was devastated to find her daughter decapitated. The head was later found in the dumpster at the same apartment complex.

The Alton Police Department determined that Deundrea S. Holloway, who lived in Litchfield was a suspect. In the mean time, He had just been arrested in Gillespie, Illinois on a recent unrelated bicycle theft charge. Gillespie Police realized he was the suspect in the murder case as well.

It is said that Holloway and Dodd had an on again off again relationship for two years. Dodd’s mother has said that the unborn child was not the child of the murderer, Holloway. The victim’s mother was aware of the abusive relationship Dodd had with Holloway and knew the killer, himself. She had talked to Holloway in the past about how he was treating her daughter and the future of the relationship.

Throughout the trial the killer, Deundrea Holloway is spoken of, as having increasing mental health issues. He was even treated for a short time at a facility to see if he was able to stand trial.

Holloway plead guilty to Murder, Homicide to an Unborn Child, and Concealment/Dismembering a Human Body. He was sentenced 60 years in prison on January 17, 2025.

The states attorney said, “For the family and loved ones of Liese, these types of issues have caused continued angst and uncertainty. The guilty conviction ends that,” Haine said in a statement. “Our hope is that this conviction and sentence provide the family and loved ones some assurance and will be a step towards healing.”

After the trial Holloway was remanded to the custody of the Illinois Department of Corrections.

He is currently being held at Menard Correctional Center, near Chester, Illinois.

This is a horrifically tragic story. I have studied so many of these true crime and serial killer types of cases and I am totally convinced of the presence of demonic evil forces, as I have stated in some of my other writings.

You can look into so many of these cases and the killer will have mentioned “Voices” telling them to do evil. In this case, Holloway told his step-father of a voice he calls Ruth, who tells him to do things.

I am not a psychologist. But, I study spiritual things and crime. Throughout history, all over the world we run into acts of evil, and the working of demons in people or on people. The devil comes for nothing but to steal, kill and destroy.

So, what happens?

Well spiritually speaking, people are born with defects of some kind or get damaged by things done to them, like abuse or molestation, or they damage themselves through drugs or certain activities that causes deep impact into our mind.

Psychologists, doctors, and other professionals speak of these things. It is a fact.

We label them as mental health issues and they are.

But, these things also open doors which allow demons to have more access to this person. The hedge of protection that humans are born with is damaged, and it allows more and more access. As the person gives in to more demonic whisperings, the door opens more.

It’s like the old saying of, which dog will get stronger? The one you feed the most.

When people give in to the ‘Voices” or whisperings, or temptations of the demons that surround all of us, those voices and demons get stronger in our lives. Drug and alcohol use lowers our ability to ignore or resist.

I am not giving excuses for what people do. I am also not degrading anyone with mental health issues. All humans are tempted by demonic influences. It happens all the time, whether it’s a temptation to cheat on a lover, or steal, or lie, or gossip or hate someone.

Those demons whisper to us.

They seek to open doors into our lives and destroy us.

But, some folk are more open to it than others.

Like a soldier who has PTSD, when the fireworks go off. They are impacted more than someone without PTSD. Or like an addict in recovery who is more susceptible to temptation for addiction or getting addicted more quickly if they give in to the temptation again.

All of us get damaged by DNA, our past or the things we do.

But, some folks have damage that opens doors to the demonic more quickly.

Prison does nothing to help stop the demonic. Treatment does nothing. The psychotropic drugs simply impact the physical but not the spiritual.

A person can learn to control themselves more. They can learn to suppress the urges, that come to them. There are many methods that can help.

But, only spiritual warfare reaches into the spiritual realm. Prayer, praise, the Word of God and casting out demons.

Turning to God through Jesus Christ and confessing Him as Lord will set us free. Then, the Holy Spirit will work in our lives to help us change and shut those open doors that impact us.

Holloway has been punished in this life for what he did. Hopefully he will turn to the Lord, and get help in order to avoid being separated, forever.
