True Crime: Our Story

Ronald and Reggie Kray book review

Our Story is an autobiographical book written by Ronald and Reginald Kray of London’s East End.

They were twins and they grew up poor. The saying was, “The only way to get out of the East End was boxing or crime.”

The Krays did both and became very successful.

They ran protection rackets, and fancy clubs in the east end.

Then, they started to expand their operations and ran into some push back. But, the Kray’s were never ones to back down from a fight.

The Kray’s were infamous in London in those days, and lived the big life with high class people, and stars.

The Amazon page had this to say:

“The Kray twins were Britain’s most notorious gangsters. Ruling London’s underworld for more than a decade, as gang lords they were among the most powerful and feared men in the city. Photographed by David Bailey and even interviewed for television, they became celebrities in their own right and are infamous to this day.”

Things began to turn for the worst, when Ronnie Kray killed George Cornell for causing trouble and calling Ronnie a “fat poof”.

Ronnie tells the tale, that the minute George said the words, he signed his own death warrant.

Days later, Ronnie walked into the Blind Beggar pub and shot George in the head.

That is just one story told by these two infamous mobsters who rose to power and lived the life they created.

They were both sentenced to life in prison in 1969.

Our Story tells the tale of the rise and fall of the Kray’s from both Ronnie and Reggie’s perspective.

If you like True Crime and Organized Crime, Our Story is a must have.

It was very well written by the two twins and was an informative read.
