True Crime: Bronson

Check out Charles Bronson’s book

Michael Gordon Peterson AKA “Charles Bronson” is known as England’s most violent inmate. This is his autobiography.

Charlie was locked up in 1974 for robbery, But, because of his behavior in prison, he keeps getting more time added to him. He has spent decades in prisons and insane asylums because he refuses to put up with anyone messing with him. He simply goes off, and then gets more time added.

In 1987 he was released and did some bare knuckle fighting in London. That’s when he changed his name to Charles Bronson. His fighting name. He went back to prison in 1988 and has been there ever since. He came up for parole in 2023 but was denied.

Bronson tells the story of Charlie, Charlie’s way. He tells of his pain, and his anger. He speaks of his love and hate. He tells of compassion and terrible cruelty. He lays out the facts of the system he lived in. He tells of his many escape attempts, and the joy of climbing the castle.

Charlie also gives us insight into some of the most notorious English criminals he befriended on the inside. It’s a riotous tale of the Rebel, and for the rebels.

Bronson is a great book and a must read for true crime, penologists, and reformers. It’s also needed reading for rebels, and those prone to violence.

It is a picture of how the system treats those who refuse to submit.
