Movie Review By The Yard
“The Talented Mr. Ripley” is a fantastic movie based upon one of the best crime fiction novels of all time.
The movie is full of big name people, starring Matt Damon, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jude Law, Cate Blanchet, and the late Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Matt Damon gave an awesome performance. But, actually they all did wonderfully.
The movie was directed by Anthony Minghella and was nominated for several awards.
It was based on the character Tom Ripley, from a novel written by Patricia Highsmith in 1955. The novel became a series of books, and has been made into several films. The most recent being this current film released in 1999.
The film portrays Matt Damon as Tom Ripley, who desires to change his life, and uses his innate talents to commit what we would call ID theft and murder. He becomes wrapped up in a series of lies, and cover-ups that becomes quite entertaining; leading the viewer to root for him.
If you are looking for a great crime story to watch and enjoy seeing actors and actresses when they were young, I recommend “The Talented Mr. Ripley.”
The film can be found streaming on Showtime and Paramount + currently.

Macy Walks The Labyrinth
Crime Fiction by Lina Chern Macy dreams of the little girl in red again. Old-fashioned pinafore dress, pigtails. Or pigtail. One eye, half a mouth frozen in a toothy grin. Macy only sees half of her, like she is always just around the corner. Today, for the first time, the girl is all there. She’s…
Nothing More Fun Than A Little Black Dress
Flash Fiction by Hillary Lyon This little black number is more of a shirt than a dress, Jacklyn thought as she looked at herself in the hotel mirror.
