By Dick Johnson
I recently read an anthology entitled “Tech Noir” published by Switchblade Magazine. The name Tech Noir reminds me of a scene from the 1984 movie “The Terminator”.
Sarah Connor is in a club being hunted by The Terminator. She calls her friend and leaves a voice mail, which tells the Terminator she is “at a place called Tech Noir.” The Terminator comes and all hell breaks loose, in one of the best shootouts in movie history.
And that’s the general feel of this anthology. It’s Noir, so it’s dark and grungy. Everybody is bad, in various ways. And it’s tech, full of cyborgs, future dystopian worlds, and sexy robots.
Each of the stories are very well written, and entertaining. Switchblade. like always, has done a great job with “Tech Noir”.
Here at The Yard: Crime Blog, we love Noir, and Crime stories, whether it’s Sci-fi, Fantasy or right smack dab in your own town.
So, check it out, if you love Sci-fi and Noir, you won’t be disappointed. We are ordering our next anthology from Switchblade as we speak.
